What brought you here?

Start with the part of life
you’d like to understand better.

You don’t need a perfect goal to begin. Choose a topic below to see what you can practice in the Academy.

01I want more confidence in myselfRecognize your strengths and what matters to you.

Confidence can begin with a clearer picture of what you already bring to a situation. The first level asks you to identify strengths using real examples, explore your values, and describe yourself beyond one role or title.

Try in Level 1: Understanding Yourself, Find the Values Behind Your Choices, and Recognize Strengths Without Pretending.

A practical first step: Describe one ordinary problem you handled and identify the actions that helped.

See the learning path →
02I’m unsure about my next chapterFind a direction without needing every answer.

A change in work, responsibilities, or routine can leave you wondering what comes next. The Academy gives you prompts to explore which values, interests, and skills still matter, then turn one chosen direction into a manageable plan.

Try in Level 1: Separate Your Roles from Your Identity, Make a Small Choice That Fits Your Values, and Create Your Personal Starting-Point Map.

A practical first step: Compare two realistic options, name their tradeoffs, and choose one small action for this week.

See how the assignments work →
03Everyday life feels hard to organizeMake routines and first steps more workable.

When there is a lot to do, a smaller first step or a better setting can make a task easier to begin. You’ll practice noticing attention and energy, identifying what you can influence, and testing one change at a time.

Try in Level 1: Start with Where You Are, Notice Patterns in Attention and Energy, and Make a Small Choice That Fits Your Values.

A practical first step: Try a five-minute start, prepare the materials you need, and notice which condition helped.

Explore the free lessons →
04I want to respond more thoughtfullyNotice feelings, assumptions, and available choices.

In an ordinary difficult moment, it can help to separate what happened, what you felt, and what you assumed. These lessons offer a structured way to consider more than one explanation and choose a response that fits your values.

Try in Level 1: Name an Emotion Before Choosing a Response and Distinguish Facts from the Stories You Tell.

A practical first step: Use a low-stakes example to write an observation, name a feeling, and consider two possible next actions.

Explore our approach →
05I want clearer boundaries and relationshipsUnderstand your needs and express your availability.

Knowing your own needs is a useful starting point for clear communication. Level 1 helps you practice expressing a realistic limit and checking assumptions in everyday interactions. A later planned level will focus more deeply on relationships and communication.

Try in Level 1: Understand Needs and Express a Limit, plus Distinguish Facts from the Stories You Tell.

A practical first step: Write a respectful sentence that explains what you can offer and when.

See what is available and planned →
06I want to follow through on things that matterTurn a good intention into an action you can try.

You’ll connect a goal to your values, choose a realistic first step, plan for interruptions, and decide how to review the result. The purpose is to give you a repeatable way to make and adjust a plan.

Try in Level 1: Find the Values Behind Your Choices, Make a Small Choice That Fits Your Values, and Create Your Personal Starting-Point Map.

A practical first step: Specify a time, place, smaller fallback, and review date for one action.

Why we’re doing this

Useful lessons for
the life you’re living.

Life brings choices, changing responsibilities, and questions about who we are and where we want to go. Life Academy exists to make practical personal-growth learning easier to approach: a place to pause, understand a situation more clearly, and try a small next step.

We’re building this around real examples, guided assignments, and human instructor feedback. The aim is to help you connect an idea to your own circumstances and make a plan you can revisit as you practice.

The Academy is an educational initiative of The Reveille Foundation. It sits alongside the Foundation’s veteran-serving mission and welcomes people from all walks of life. The first level is free so you can explore the approach before any future membership is introduced.

01

Make the first step accessible

Ten free lessons, available immediately. Begin where you are, work ahead, or return when life leaves you room.

02

Make learning useful this week

Move from a question to an example, a choice, and a practical action. Keep your work and notice what you learn.

03

Leave room for a human response

Submit an assignment for instructor review, read the feedback, and revise your thinking or plan when it helps.

There’s room for different starting points

You can be curious,
uncertain, or starting again.

People arrive with different experiences. You don’t need to be a veteran, have a finished life plan, or know exactly what you want to change before exploring Level 1.

Find your own starting point →

When a role or routine is changing

Explore what still matters to you as work, family responsibilities, or another part of life shifts.

When you’re caring for a lot of things

Practice clearer choices, realistic limits, and small routines that fit your available time.

When you want to understand yourself better

Look at values, strengths, emotions, and the assumptions behind everyday decisions.

When you’re ready for one useful next step

Choose an action, think through the obstacles, and give yourself a way to review what happened.

Why this approach can be useful

Learn it. Make it personal.
Try it in real life.

This life-skills and personal-development program gives you a structure for reflection and action. Your circumstances and the work you put into practicing shape what you take from it.

Read a clear idea

Understand the starting point

Short teaching sections explain a skill in plain language, with examples you can recognize.

Work through an example

Think beyond the first answer

Five guided prompts ask you to describe a situation, explain your reasoning, consider options, and make a plan.

Save and submit

Get a perspective on your work

Keep an unfinished draft private. Submit when you’re ready for an instructor to read your responses and leave feedback.

Revisit and adjust

Give your next step a review date

See what you tried, what helped, and what you want to change. Your responses and feedback stay together by version.

A clear picture of the support

The pilot offers educational lessons, written assignments, and instructor feedback on submitted work. A booked one-to-one coaching service, live coaching calls, and response-time guarantees are not included. Life Academy does not provide therapy, diagnosis, or crisis care, and results will differ from person to person.
